Child Day Care career outline

Child care in all its forms can be an incredibly rewarding career choice. It’s a profession that allows you to make a difference in the lives of other human beings at an age where it matters most. You need to have a genuine love for children if you truly want to excel in this career. There are a wide range of opportunities available to you, if you have the right training and knowledge needed for the job. Our Child Day Care programmes are designed to give you just that.

The importance of Child Care in the early years

Early Childhood Development (ECD) refers to the physical, cognitive, linguistic, social and emotional development of a child up to age eight. As a Child Day Care practitioner, you’ll be spending a large amount of time with children at this crucial point in their growth.

These early years are the best time to lay a strong foundation for a child’s future development. Proper health, stimulation and nutrition are of the utmost importance for brain development and child well being. Poor children under the age of 5 often fall behind those who have better access to money and resources to support them at this age. Without access to quality ECD, this gap usually grows before they even start school. This is why your role is so important.

As a Child Day Care practitioner, you have a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact in a child’s life. You could play a key role in building a strong foundation to a bright future for them. The role comes with a lot of responsibility, but the reward of seeing children thrive in life is a priceless one.

Our courses have been designed to help you provide the best possible experience for those under your care, not just while you look after them, but for the rest of the lives as they grow up with the lessons you teach them.
